Biography

Dr. Joshua Vogel is a highly respected and compassionate OB/GYN who has dedicated his career to providing exceptional care to women and fostering meaningful connections with his patients. With over 25 years of experience in the field, Dr. Vogel enjoys both clinical practice and community involvement. He currently practices at Wilmington Health, where he has served on the Board of Directors and chaired the CEO Search Committee, helping to shape the future of the organization.

Dr. Vogel’s journey in medicine began at the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC), where he earned his medical degree. Following medical school, he completed his residency training at New Hanover Regional Medical Center (NHRMC), where he stood out as a leader, serving as Chief Resident from 1999 to 2000. His excellence as a resident was recognized with two consecutive “Resident Teacher of the Year” awards, an honor he earned by going above and beyond in mentoring and guiding medical students.

Throughout his career, Dr. Vogel has made a point of making his patients feel heard and valued. He believes that the cornerstone of exceptional care is ensuring that women feel understood, supported, and informed during every step of their healthcare journey. His patients appreciate his empathetic approach, where he actively listens and works collaboratively with them to make the best decisions for their health and well-being.

In addition to his clinical expertise, Dr. Vogel is highly skilled in advanced techniques, including robotic surgery, which allows him to perform minimally invasive procedures with greater precision and shorter recovery times for his patients. 

Dr. Vogel’s commitment to service extends beyond the exam room. He has contributed significantly to the community through his involvement in several key organizations. He is an active member of the Temple of Israel, having served as President and on the Board of Directors, where he worked to strengthen the community’s connection to faith and service. His role on the Board of Directors at Wilmington Health further illustrates his leadership and dedication to advancing the practice of medicine in his community.

In addition to his clinical and leadership roles, Dr. Vogel has been deeply engaged in advocacy work, particularly in regard to reproductive rights. He helped organize a series of expert panel discussions about Senate Bill 20, which focused on abortion restrictions. Through these discussions, Dr. Vogel facilitated a platform for local experts to share knowledge and educate the community on the implications of the bill, demonstrating his commitment to both patient care and societal change.

Dr. Vogel is a very considerate and kind man! I was having painful periods which was assumed to be endometriosis; he gave me all my options and was very clear and concise.
