Wilmington, N.C. – Wilmington Health, a leading healthcare provider in the region, is proud to announce the grand opening of its new Mammography Suite at the Midtown location on October 8, 2024. The new suite is designed to offer the highest level of diagnostic care with state-of-the-art technology and a patient-centered experience.
The new suite features two GE Senographe Pristina Mammography Units, which provide superior diagnostic accuracy at the same low dose as a 2D Full-Field Digital Mammography (FFDM) system. This equipment boasts the lowest patient dose of all FDA-approved Digital Breast Tomosynthesis (DBT) systems, ensuring patient safety without compromising on the quality of diagnostic images.

The new Midtown building will provide a comprehensive array of imaging services, including Mammography, Ultrasound, and Bone Density testing, all housed within a newly updated and modernized area. The new suite will feature two mammography units to accommodate the growing demand for mammography services, allowing for additional time slots and more convenient scheduling options. The new suite also includes a dedicated Stereotactic Biopsy Suite, providing continuity of care for patients needing breast biopsy procedures. The suite offers a spacious and calming environment to enhance the patient experience.
