Wilmington Health offers a Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) Program for current employees or new employees who will complete this program as they serve in their positions. Those that are not current employees that are interested in the CCMA program would complete the following steps:
- Apply for a non-clinical position at Wilmington Health
- At that time, express interest in the CCMA Program
- Upon interview, you will also be interviewed by the CCMA Instructor
- Upon hiring, you will be enrolled in the CCMA Program

- Consistent attendance and punctuality
- A strong work ethic
- A passion for learning
- A patient-centered approach to care delivery
- And, have clinical experience
While much of the curriculum is self-paced, there will be specific deadlines for completion.
Course Description
This comprehensive, 24-week program combines in-depth classroom instruction, hands-on clinical rotations, and an engaging online curriculum to prepare candidates for CCMA certification upon successful completion.

- Module 1: Foundational Knowledge & Basic Science
- Module 2: Anatomy & Physiology
- Module 3: Patient Intake & Vital Signs
- Module 4: General Patient Care Part 1
- Module 5: General Patient Care Part 2
- Module 6: Infection Control & Safety
- Module 7: Point of Care Test & Lab Procedures
- Module 8: Phlebotomy
- Module 9: EKG & Cardiovascular Testing
- Module 10: Patient Care Coordination & Education
- Module 11: Administrative Assisting
- Module 12: Communication & Customer Service
- Module 13: Medical Law & Ethics
